From a predominantly Australian genus, the name is derived from the plumage of cassowary. It is commonly called Coastal Sheoak. The crown of this beautiful spreading tree is open, with weeping branchlets. It has needle-like thin green foliage. Very useful seaside planting. Resistant to damage by strong salty winds.
